The last class of the session is today — and the iPad class still has room for November
Both Senior Center series finish this afternoon. Tomorrow morning is the last registration window for the November round — iPhone Basics is already full, but there is still room in Advanced iPad. After December the classes break until the end of January.
Monday and Tuesday — registration opened, and a house call
Monday went to prep for today. Tuesday morning was the first of the two registration windows at the Senior Center, and I spent the middle of the day at a client’s home.
Wednesday — Culver City Senior Center, in person
Week six of six, and the last session of both series. If you’ve been in either room since September 16, this is the one that closes it out.
iPhone Basics at 12:30: the new Siri — what’s different, and how to get along with it.
Advanced iPad at 2:30: Siri, and troubleshooting. A fitting pair for a final class — between the two of them you can ask the iPad for help, and fix it yourself when it won’t listen.
I’ve donated my Wednesdays to the Senior Center since 2013 and it’s still the best part of my week.
Thursday — the last registration morning
The second and final registration window is tomorrow, Thursday, October 22, 10:00 to 12:00, in person at the Senior Center. Both classes start again November 4 and run through December 16 — and then there is a real gap, because they don’t pick up again until the end of January.
iPhone Basics is already full for November. I would rather you know that today than make the trip tomorrow for a seat that isn’t there. The Senior Center holds the list, not me, so they are the ones to talk to about getting in next time.
Advanced iPad still has room. If that’s the one you want, tomorrow morning is when to go claim it — it is the last chance before that January gap. Registration happens in person at the Senior Center rather than through me, so that’s where it has to happen — their number is (310) 253-6700 if you have questions first.
I have a private session of my own late morning. One-on-one is where the stubborn problems actually get solved — the ones that need somebody sitting next to you looking at your screen, not a class.
Friday — behind the scenes
Nothing on the teaching calendar. One series closed Wednesday and the next starts November 4, so Friday is prep — and, as always, my own continuing education.
